Teresa Hadland – Shiatsu – Bradden

Teresa Hadland – Shiatsu

What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a form of physical therapy, working on all levels of mind and body, which originated in Japan and has developed worldwide over the last 40 years.

It can achieve the same benefits as osteopathy and chiropractic by correcting distortions or weakness in the skeletal structure that affect good posture and movement.

Like physiotherapy it incorporates muscle stretches and joint manipulations; to free and strengthen the muscular body, promoting healing, improving movement and boosting core support.

And with its roots in Oriental Medicine it works on the network of energy channels (meridians) which are also fundamental to acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. This network encourages the body’s capacity for self-organisation so that it can re-establish its own equilibrium.

I have over 20 years clinical experience and works with a wide range of medical conditions such as:

  • Anxiety, stress, depression, headaches, migraines
  • All problems with muscles, bones and joints
  • Cancer care, MS, ME
  • Pregnancy, labour, problems with babies and illness in children
  • Asthma
  • Major trauma, car accidents, sports injuries
  • See website for more details

I have trained in Japan and Australia as well as the UK. I have been teaching Shiatsu for 10 years, currently teaching on the BA in Complementary and Holistic Therapies at Derby University and with independent Shiatsu schools. I also tutor other Shiatsu practitioners.

Where are my Shiatsu Clinics?

I have a clinic in the centre of Northampton and also work from my garden clinic near Towcester in South Northamptonshire, close to the borders with Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Milton Keynes, Daventry, Rugby, Bicester, Kettering, Wellingborough, Bedford and many more towns are all within easy travelling distance by car.

See my website for more details of the benefits of shiatsu, my qualifications and location of my clinics.
