Towcester’s Picnic in the Park

Towcester’s “Picnic in the Park” event to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on Saturday 2nd June 12 noon-5pm at Towcester Recreational Field known locally as the Rec will have much on offer to entertain children after they have finished their picnic.

Speaking to AboutMyArea/NN12 Sue Hamilton a member of the organising committee said, “We will have plenty for children to do once they have finished their picnics – for example:

  • Story Telling Sessions led by Northamptonshire County Council’s Children’s Librarian will be held at the Community Centre throughout the afternoon.
  • There will also be the opportunity to take part in a football penalty shoot-out.
  • There will be games and activities for them to join in on the recreational field and at the Riverside Centre.
  • There will be biscuits to decorate.
  • A face painter will be on hand.
  • The Candy Floss van and Ice-cream van will be there too.
  • And of course there is the Fancy Dress Competition for all ages!”
