Bradden AGM Agenda – Thursday 30th May 2013

Bradden Parish Meeting AGM 7.30 pm Thursday 30 May 2013 in the Village Hall

AGENDA

  • Minutes of the last AGM held on 17 May 2012

  1. Minutes of the Meeting Held on 13 Dec 2012
  2. Chairman’s Report
  3. Election of Chairman (note 1)
  4. Village Gateway Signs (note 2)
  5. High Speed Broadband (note 3)
  6. A.O.B.

Note 1: I am happy to stand for Chairman for a further year. If however another villager wishes to stand for the post they should submit an application to me, signed by a proposer and seconder.

Note 2: Following the decision by the parish meeting to reject the proposal to introduce a speed limit through the village it was agreed to pursue the installation of gateways at either end of the village. The Highways Department have requested that this is formally approved at a Parish Meeting before they will proceed.

Note 3: There is the opportunity for the village to be linked to the Tove Valley superfast broadband network (superfast is defined as greater than 24mbs). This would give download speeds of well over ten times the average currently attained in the village. I have invited a representative of the Tove Valley Scheme to address the meeting. Responses

  1. Reference Item 5 – High Speed Broadband.

Parishioners should note that the County Council is working in partnership with BT to extend the roll out of Superfast fibre Broadband available in areas such as Daventry, to include more rural communities including Bradden!!!

Openreach are in the process of detailed planning with the actual build commencing soon. When the service is available in Bradden, businesses and residents located within the community will be able to receive superfast speeds of at least 24mbs going up to 80mbs currently. They will also be able to choose from a range of service providers including Talk Talk, Sky and BT Infinity.
