Thursday 27th April 2017 at 7.30pm – Bradden Village Hall – W.I. Guest Speaker Aidan Ward ” Basic Life Support for Adults and Paediatrics”. Non-members welcome

Talk for Bradden Womens Institute upon Thursday 27th April 2017 at 7.30pm

Given by: Aidan Ward – Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science.

Basic Life Support for Adults and Paediatrics”

The main focus of the talk will be a session on Basic Life Support for both Adults and Paediatrics (Children and Infants), as well as some tips on caring for a person who is unconscious and how to control bleeding. Adult, child and infant resuscitation manikins will be available to practice upon.

The session will commence with a brief overview, and then a demonstration of the various resuscitation techniques. There will then be an opportunity, for those who wish to, to have a go themselves.

If there is time at the end of the talk, Aidan will be happy to answer any questions about emergency aid. In addition, if anyone has a specific enquiry they wish him to address, they can send their questions in advance.

Aidan wishes to emphasise that this session will not certificate anyone as being competent in Basic Life Support (CPR), but nonetheless, should give confidence to anyone who subsequently finds themselves in a position to intervene, and attempt to resuscitate someone.
